Now in its second year, the Outgrowers Scheme has more than doubled in size. This year also saw the introduction of microfinance to the outgrowers’ scheme. Certain growers have proved that they are more than capable of growing good quality and a good quantity of either paprika or birds eye chilli. These growers have therefore, this season, gained access to micro finance from OIBM, enabling them to purchase fertilizers, pesticides and other inputs to help increase their yields and thus their revenues.

This also enhances the attractiveness of becoming an Africa Invest Outgrower. Not only do clubs receive expert advice from our 80+ strong extension team but also advice on money management from OIBM.
